A cuvette is a small tube-like container with straight sides and a circular or square cross section. It is sealed at one end, and made of a clear, transparent material such as plastic, glass, or fused quartz.
Cuvettes are designed to hold samples for spectroscopic measurement, where a beam of light is passed through the sample within the cuvette to measure the absorbance, transmittance, fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, or fluorescence lifetime of the sample. This measurement is done with a spectrophotometer.
The cuvette is also called the absorption cell, the sample cell. Used to hold the reference solution, sample solution.
Compatible with spectroscopic instruments:such as photometers, bloodline analyzers Particle size analyzer, etc.,
quantitative and qualitative analysis of substances, widely used in chemical, metallurgical, medical, pharmaceutical, food,
environmental protection, power plants, water plants, Oil and other industries, departments and universities, research
institutes, testing and etc. It is mainly a quartz cuvette fired from quartz powder, and also has a trace amount of Semi-micro, fluorescent and other cuvette appear.
Physical properties of quartz cuvette:
1. Good thermal stability
2. Good light transmission performance
3. Good electrical insulation performance
Chemical properties:
1. high temperature resistance:
The softening point temperature of quartz glass is about 1730℃. It can be used at 1100℃ for a long time, and the highest
temperature can reach 1450℃ for a short time.
2. corrosion resistance:
In addition to hydrofluoric acid, quartz glass almost does not react with other acid substances, and its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel. Especially, its chemical stability at high temperature is
incomparable to any other engineering materials.

Deviations in matching
Optical glass
At 350nm approx.82%
At 350nm max.0.5%
Shape technique of cuvette:
1. Adhesive: UV glue or AB glue bonding, cheap price, relatively low-end quality. Adhesive not temperature resistant, easy to melt, glass generally about 100 degrees. 2. Sintering: it is to use low melting point glass powder or quartz powder. After melting at a certain temperature, the quartz sheet is glued together with the quartz sheet. The temperature resistance and corrosion resistance will be much better. Glass material temperature 200-300 degrees, quartz material than glass about 200 degrees higher. But can not suddenly cool and heat up, easy to explode. 3. Integrated forming: he does not use any intermediary medium, he does not use glue nor low melting point quartz powder. It is direct glass with glass, so its temperature resistance and corrosion resistance will be better than other forming methods. And it can withstand high temperatures. It can be combined with other glass or quartz tubes and burned together. Glass material temperature 500-600 degrees, quartz material temperature 1000 degrees.
Clean method for your reference:
1.After the dish is used, it should be rinsed with proper solvent first, and be careful to wash both inside and outside. If the
solvent is non-toxic, you can put half of the solvent into it, press both ends of the dish with your finger and shake it
vigorously. The number of times should be no less than three times.
2. Then rinse with plenty of running water. This step is very important for aqueous and salt solutions. Of course, if you’re using a solvent that’s not hydrophilic, you can drop this step. 3.
Finally, use deionized water to clean, and pay attention to wash both inside and outside. This step can also be abandoned if the solvent is not hydrophilic. 4. After washing, do not deliberately dry the color dish, put it in the color dish box, and do not cover it to dry naturally.
